Johno Prascak loves Pittsburgh.
In fact, so much so, that he infuses a bit of Pittsburgh into every painting he creates.
Johno pioneered the technique of mixing Monongahela River SAND into his acrylic ENAMEL paints to create a unique and course texture for his work.
This techique of mixing the sand and enamels directly on to the canvas, incorporating many layers of paint create incredible depth on the surface of each piece of artwork.
His unflinching use of color and bold stroke is the stuff his paintings are made of.
Johno collects sand from around the world, many specimens are gifts from client's, family and friends. Clients often provide their own sand from a vacation, or home abroad to be incorporated along with the Mon river sand in to their commissioned piece.
The studio accepts commissions for originals. Johno will paint from a photo or idea you may have for inspiration, or one can be designed especially for you.
He also works closely with many organizations, creating paintings for their offices, in many cases providing fine art reproductions for their fundraisers of the piece. See Fundraising page for more info.
